Hopelab.org

Website UI/UX, development, copywriting, thought leadership

Project Background

Relaunched with a complete redesign in 2020, Hopelab.org is an evolving piece of digital media content that serves as a major communications strategy tool for Hopelab. Pre-launch we needed to solve engagement, UI and UX issues, as well as deliver on copy and content needs as the needs of the organization evolved.

Partners on this project include:

UI/UX audit: Exygy

Design: Hannah Rebernick

Development & Site Maintenance: Ellytronic Media

Strategic Goals & Results

Since launch, we’ve seen a significant decrease in bounce rate, have seen a quarter-over-quarter increase in traffic (nearly 22% each quarter), and a substantial increase in younger users (ages 18-25) which is a strategic goal we set when we launched the site and maps to Hopelab’s strategic priorities of engaging teens and young adults with our content.

Update & Results

In 2022 we re-evaluated our brand and design principles as our strategic and equity journey evolved. We updated the site’s visual direction slightly and made significant copy updates to reflect Hopelab’s new theory of change and service offerings.

Hopelab Insights Page

Hopelab Insights

As a research-driven organization, Hopelab’s portfolio work is grounded in meaningful data. The organization and the thought leaders behind the content are motivated to inspire action from the insights derived from the data we collect. These insights are written with a purpose to inspire others to support young people in their pursuit of health, happiness, well-being, and thriving.

Hopelab in the News

Hopelab’s interdisciplinary team of researchers, strategists, and designers has been featured in publications and media outlets such as Psychology Today, Today, Elle Magazine, Forbes, and The Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Hopelab Ventures

Through Hopelab’s external investment initiative—Hopelab Ventures—the organization invests and partners with entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and innovators who are committed to advancing mental health, and well-being outcomes for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ young people. This capability allows us the flexibility to support both for-profit and nonprofit teams dedicated to improving and scaling impact, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the field of social good.

Hopelab Research

At Hopelab, we’re applying behavioral science to answer big questions about supporting the mental health and well-being of young people. We publish randomized controlled trials on the products we develop; this research informs the development of science-based technologies within the sphere of our partner network. We also engage in academic partnerships to support our mission.
